Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my first blog. I thought I would finally share my thoughts and  stories about groups I’ve worked with, give some guitar instruction, release some excerpts from my upcoming book “Dancing with the big boys” and talk about adventures I am currently having.

If you’d like, just look at the site map on the right and just go down the list.

I hope you enjoy all my efforts. I am sure I’ll make a few mistakes here and there, but I think the important thing is to just get started.

So much to do, so little time.

All my best

Carlos Alomar

    Hi Carlos
I see in your discography you played on Iggy’s Lust for Life album. Did you play that great rhythm guitar on “The Passenger”?

HI Carlos, big fan. Was wondering why you have not been a part of any of the tributes?
Is it just too close to home?

    thanks

      Hello Harry,
It is regrettable, but although I have been asked about my availability, there has never been any follow-up. It seems they are happy with their decisions.
Do you think I should launch a tour?
      Carlos

        HI Carlos

I think that is up to you Carlos, and how you think that you should honor his place in your life. If you feel it is better to do so quietly and privately, I can respect that.
But if anyone has the right/ ability to put something together it is you.
You were with him for a long time. Through many experiments and many successes.

I don’t know about a tour. I have seen this celebrating one a few times, and unless you are able to pull in some big names, the market may have been saturated.

What about a few big “event” type things (I hate to say it, but like the Freddie show.) maybe in NY LA London Japan Berlin Slant the music and set list to the venue?

Side note, I was not a “sigma kid” but grew up in Philly and was living there still at the time. I remember the night the kids came in. It was all over the news.
Thank you for all of your contributions to Davids music. It would have not been the same without your art.

What ever you decide to do or not do,

        all the best

        Harry

That’s a good question. The Bowie catalogue is much richer as a result of your contributions so it seems a serious omission that you wouldn’t be included. Would love to have seen an Alomar-Davis-Murray based show (RIP Dennis) and I guess George is retired from the biz. Still – it would be great to see an Alomar led show. You could do a live streaming thing via YouTube ? Speaking in general it would be great to see you on the road period. Of course, the economics of these things have to make sense for all involved. Stay funky….

        Hey Carlos
        Me again
Just read a rolling stone thing about them going out again.
        Without you again.
did you ever decide to do anything your self?

    Good evening Carlos,

I hope this message finds you in great health.
Briefly… because I can’t express in words the impressive influence you have had in my brothers and myself… (all musicians).

Congrats on your performance (Dream Generator). WOW!!

Carlos we would like to stop by to meet you sometime. Please … tell me how?

Carlos, not sure where to put this but you should do a post on ‘Hot’ by James Brown and the guitar lick that he ‘stole’ from you…

Greetings, Carlos…please accept my deepest condolences too for the loss of everyone’s dear friend B*O*W*I*E. His sweetness and creativity resonated with me from the moment I laid eyes on him and heard his great music and fascinating lyrics…and your contribution to that was truly special. Tried to, but never got to meet him. But like I always said, “We’ve met”. Must have been from a previous life or on the spiritual realm. My heart is sad, but I know where to find him, right there. Love & Light to You, Carlos!
