Sesame Street – 1970

This was my first tour ever. I was just Married and I was so excited to be on planes, and hotels and everything. Until the reality of one nighters (or in this case One dayers, as the children’s shows were all in the morning) and jumping from hotel to hotel kicked in. None the less, I had a great experience, I traveled the states and even Hawaii. Sesame Street was in their first year and the overwhelming success of the show was remarkable. Sold out performances everywhere.

Here’s my first TV appearance on Sesmae Street with Listen My Brother doing “Count to Twenty song” This was also the first appearance of my best friend Luther Vandross and my future wife Robin Clark…check out the huge Afro and what about my fringe belt woeeeee!!!!!.lol

Carlos, who else was in the house band at that time? Seems like a bunch of future legends, between you and Luther and of course Nile Rodgers

Carlos, love it. In Brazil Sesame St. had the soundtrack by Marcos Valle. A lovely one too!!!
